The Healthy Congregations Recognition program, recognized Kansas United Methodist congregations for their efforts to nurture, reach out and educate through ministries of health, healing and wholeness. For 2009, the Recognition program has been superseded by the new Healthy Congregations Covenant program, with a simplified, new approach to foster greater participation and results. The Healthy Congregations Hall of Fame serves as an archive of the historic Recognition program. We hope you'll find it interesting and join us in the new Healthy Congregations Covenant program.

| 2006 | Kirwin UMC: A church member with a Master's degree in kinesiology volunteered to lead exercise classes designed to work for all ages and degrees of fitness. Believing ministry begins outside the walls of the church and out into the community, the classes are held in the community room of the firehouse so even those who don't want to enter a church building will feel comfortable participating. |
