Mission and Values
Our mission:
Healthy Kansans through cooperative and strategic philanthropy guided by Christian principles
The critical needs in today's world vividly illustrate the obligations, as well as the privileges, of our Christian life. On behalf of the more than 400 United Methodist churches in the western two-thirds of the state, we are steadfastly dedicated to the extension of health, healing, and wholeness to all people in all stations of life.
Foundation values:
Bringing philanthropy and Christian values together to advance health
Being a learning, responsive, and innovative organization
Working for social justice for all people
Fostering environments of accomplishment and celebration
Our definition of health:
Health is a state of complete physical, mental, spiritual, and social well-being and not mere absence of disease or infirmity. (Adapted from World Health Organization definition)
