2008 Fluoride Varnish Mini-Summit
May 16, 2008, Topeka, KS
Executive summary
The purposes of the mini-summit were to gather together those working to improve children’s oral health by expanding the delivery of dental disease prevention services, specifically the application of fluoride varnish; to take stock of progress made since 2002 in Kansas and elsewhere, and to identify ideas for making further progress toward the vision of good oral health for children in Kansas.
66 people from all over the state participated, representing a variety of roles. Participants at the mini-summit reflected on good news, discussed barriers, and developed a number of suggestions to increase utilization of this proven technique for reducing tooth decay.
